We are looking for a Level 2 Systems Administrator with strong networking expertise to join our technical team.

Position Overview

The L2 Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining client IT environments, with a focus on network infrastructure, troubleshooting, and escalation support.

This role bridges help desk (L1) and senior engineering (L3), requiring both hands-on technical execution and independent problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

Systems & Support

  • Troubleshoot escalated issues related to Windows environments, Microsoft 365, and endpoints
  • Perform onsite and remote support across client environments
  • Manage onboarding/offboarding of users, including hardware and software setup
  • Maintain system and process documentation

Networking (Core Focus)

  • Configure and support firewalls, switches, and wireless infrastructure
  • Manage DHCP, DNS, VPNs, and network segmentation
  • Perform network troubleshooting (latency, routing, VLAN, connectivity issues)
  • Deploy and maintain network equipment including proper configuration, firmware updates, and documentation
  • Implement and test security features such as filtering, VPNs, and access controls

Infrastructure & Servers

  • Support Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms
  • Maintain patching, updates, and system health monitoring
  • Participate in backup verification and disaster recovery processes

Client & Project Work

  • Assist in site assessments and infrastructure reviews
  • Participate in deployments (network upgrades, migrations, cloud transitions)
  • Work directly with clients to communicate technical solutions clearly

Technical Requirements

Core Skills

  • Strong networking fundamentals:
    • TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewall policies
    • VPN technologies (site-to-site and remote access)
  • Experience with firewall platforms (e.g., WatchGuard, Fortinet, pfSense, or similar)
  • Windows Server administration (2016+ preferred)
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP

Preferred Experience

  • Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune)
  • Virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V)
  • Backup solutions and DR practices
  • Network monitoring and troubleshooting tools

Soft Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tickets
  • Clear communication with both technical and non-technical users
  • Attention to detail and documentation discipline

Experience & Education

  • 3–5 years in IT support or systems administration role
  • MSP experience (preferred)
  • Certifications such as CCNA, MCSA, or equivalent are an asset
